ok i have comp kappas in front and full range in the rear. right now its just wired through the stock wires to a pioneer head unit. i think they sound kinda crappy. could this be from the lower power of the head unit? 22watts rms x 4.
no i do not have a sub. thanks. - jon

Infinity speakers sound awesome with a nicely matched amp. I'd amp them to their RMS (I think it's 100w) to make them sound awesome! My bro had 4 6x9 Kappas at their rated RMS that sounded like nothing I've ever heard.

yea thats what i figured. i know one of the mids are blown on the comp. its from it cutting in and out. i need to fix that first. thanks!

yea im very sure, but you never know. they only sound bad as you turn it up. also i need just one mid speaker for my comp's. do you guy think infinity would sell me just that?

Is it the lower frequencies that sound bad? I had my kappas wired up to my head unit for about a day until my amp came in the mail. They sounded awful and I was afraid that I wasted a bunch of money...but as soon as I amped them they sounded just amazing.

yea mostly the lows. it sounds like i need a amp real bad. i was thinking of getting the infinity 7541a

If you get that amp, let me know what you think. I'm going to be building an Infinity 6x8 system all around. I'd idealy like to run new wires from the speakers to the trunk to an Infinity amp.

i plan in doing 2 amps for more flexabilty. right now i want to use the infinity for the speakers and a 400w rms alpine for the kappa sub

how old is the head unit? For what it;s worth, when I replaced/upgraded my head unit the speakers I ran of it sounded alot better.

im running 4 kappa 6x8 with a eclipse amp and i love them, great midbass

the big probleme with those speaker is the fact that they are 2ohm and 100RMS each, so pluging 400RMS @ 2ohm on your pioneer H.U is really not a good idea....REALLY both for your speaker and for your H.U
