can you buy just the lense?

where would i pick them up for the cheapest? i don't want to glue my headlight assemblys back together until i have new lenses, i just recently did the hightower mod

The cheapest new OEM lights I could find are from Tousley Ford. Register on SVTPerformance.com, and look under the Contour forum stickies for info. Ask for Steve at Tousley and he will give you a discount for being a member. IIRC, they are $98.00 a headlight.

You dont have to be a member to get the discount, I got my Torsen, bearings & races, honey and other goodies at the discount.

hey matt, are you headlamps just hazed? you can wet sand them. and you know your gunna have to bake the new headlights open to get the lense

yep, you can feel the stuff on the outside, i'm not that familiar with wet sanding, so anyone who knows how to wet sand your headlights please let me know

Uhhh... get a bucket... fill it with water... take a piece of sand paper... dip sand paper in water... take damp sandpaper out of bucket... sand headlight lense... presto... WET sanding

I'm sure there is a how to out there somewhere on the new forum, if not I KNOW this was talked about all the time in the old forums

FWIW: You don't need to register anywhere to get the info.

Steve @ Tousley fFors (White Bear Lake, MN) has his contact info in the Duratec Maintenance forum, in the sticky FAQ thread at the top.
Its right along side Bill Jenkins' contact info.

it should be noted that many times the sanding method will allow the yellow to come back sooner than before because the protective coating is gone from the light. i have considered clearcoating them, but i am unsure what the results would be, or longevity, and it wouldn't be rattle can clear it would be regular 2 part automotive clear. anyone every done that, ic ould save myself the trouble, and the clear if it didn't turn out

well looks like i will just clearcoat the next set of faded lights i do,,,maybe should start with the wifes SHO

Really? I've had mine sanded for a little over a year and they don't look any different then the day I finished sanding them?
