I just impulse bought a ticket and a program to the NAIAS tomorrow, its the last day for it, and I never have gone before so I thought it would be something good for me to do. Anybody else going?

Worst one I've attended in the last 6 years.

I went on Friday. I liked it, but not as much as two years ago. I really enjoyed BMW, Audi, and Toyota. Some pretty sweet concepts, including the Saab

Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley, and all the rest have been almost the same for years

And oh yeah, the new Mustang, yuck!

I have two tickets that were given to me, but I don't know if I want to waste my day going to it because I have heard the same thing. Everyone has been disappointed with it this year. :(

Anyone want two tickets for the auto show tomorrow!?!? Shoot me a pm and leave your cell. I'll check my pm's in the morning. I will be around the Farmington Hills area. By the way, how much do the tickets even cost? It may not be worth it for anyone to pick up these unless I am right on their way!

Anyways....

I haven't heard the best things about it this year, so I'm not going to go.

But, Jared, since you have never gone, this should be a good show to kick it off as you'll (hopefully) have better shows to say, "Wow, this was way better than the first one I went to!"

The cars are all the same for the most part but who cares about the cars look at the techonology thats coming out , its insane, audi's diesel, with a cat an 02 sonsor, electronic boost controller, alot of the cars are going to direct injection, and if you ask me its about damn time, talk about peformance from these things, its incredible. thats all im really looking at.

What didn't you like about it Todd:confused:

I can kinda sympathize. I just got back about 30 minutes ago, while I did see some pretty cool cars and had a good time, really 90-95% of the cars I saw there, were ones I saw on the way OVER to the auto show. It wasn't extremely impressive, but really neat none the less. I did see a couple of the cars I wanted to see.

i was disappointed in the basement big time!

+1 and I was just looking through my program, it lists the Ford Focus as coming with a 2.4L I4 BASE engine. For one, there isn't a 2.4L even available.

and it lists the new hyundai Elantra to come with a 1.5L base engine.

More and more manufacturers are choosing to do their new model reveals in Chicago and New York. Since the majority of them do everything at the NAIAS, they tend to get "lost in the shuffle". Doing a major reveal at one of the smaller (in comparison to Detroit) shows lets them be the talk of the show as opposed to being relegated to the "oh yeah, and there was also this from _______" group.

Not an altogether bad move IMO.

So not only is the Pontiac G8 debuting in Chicago the new R32 is as well. WTF?!

Gotta throw the others a bone every now and then:shrug: I thought the SRT-4 Caliber was going to be there last week, oh well.

BTW guys, what did you think of that 89' Saab that was there:confused:

Awesome reading skills you have like 80% of CEG. The Saab hit 1 million miles. The information also went onto state that Saab will give any new owner a new Saab if they hit that mark. They have to be the original purchasers though. That car also had it's original engine and turbo! The transmission was rebuilt at 200,000 miles (which was omited). Sounds like Saab is trying to play Volvos hand.

Considering that Saab probably spent most of its life in the mid-west is amazing when you look at the body. Yeah it has some rust, but no holes, just bubbles in the body work. I wonder what they'll do with that car, any ideas:confused:

Our 97' Safari had 560K on the clock when we got rid of our van service in May of 2005 and it too had the original motor as well as transmission. I called GM and told them about it and they offered me a FREE oil change for it, what a joke:nonono: , they just don't get it over there, do they!
