So today while coming home from class, my car starts to run very rough. I have narrowed it down to the cat being shot (small peices of metal coming out of my exhaust) and i was wondering if if get the cat cut off and a peice of pipe welded in (until I can get real aftermarket exhaust) will the 'tour throw a cel light?

stock exhaust

any other info needed from me, just let me know!!

You can't go with out the main cat. There is an 02 sensor that will fry if you don't have a main cat.

Lots of people run their cars without the main cat.(I wouldn't recommend it)

All four of the o2 sensors are located before the main cat. I don't see how removing the main cat would affect any of those sensors. It certainly wouldn't cause one of them to fry.

I'm runninng w/o a cat (trubendz testpipe) and there was no codes for me,The exhaust note got a little deeper and louder which I liked(borla cat-back)and I noticed sum pefromance up top when the exhaust really started to flow.So my answer would be call trubendz and get there testpipe($70) or go to your local muffler shop and have them weld on a pipe, you won't have any problems with it.

Ok, I just reported you to the ASPCA. .

If you mean the main cat, the one under the seats, then taking it out should not throw a code at all. There have been some discussions about backpressure or what nots but the pre-cats should be able to handle that. And there was not conclusion on that.

If you do throw a CEL code, it would probably be the pre-cats and mileliminators will take care of that.;)

Mileliminator installation in M&M how to.

Well to end the story of my cat, I ended up finding out it was the main cat, and yes i sawzawed it off, and had a local place patch it up. (I must say, it runs a bit better now.) in the process, I found that the bolt for my front motor mount (the one that goes therough the bicuit insert) was missing. anybody know a part # on this or any info?

all autozone told me was that it is a grade 8 bolt....or needs to be.
