Terms and rules

CEG GUIDELINES:

1. Research before posting a question. (Use the Search feature and FAQs.)
2. Use the Report button to notify moderators/admins of any post that should be reviewed.
3. This site is volunteer-run. Donations are greatly appreciated to keep the site going. A donation will not imply any kick-backs or favors.
4. If you cannot log in, use the Contact Us form or message the CEG Facebook page.
5. In a technical debate, back your statements with technical information. If you do not know what you are talking about, identify your statement as your opinion and not fact.
6. Profile avatars: keep it clean and non-controversial. A suggestion (but not required) is a picture of your car. Admins have final say, in accordance with Rules 4 and 6.
7. Zaino isn’t magic, but it is easy to use, and gives a good shine if used properly.
8. Meguiar’s isn’t magic either, but also gives a good shine if used properly.

CEG RULES:

Unless otherwise noted, violators will receive a warning the first time and an infraction subsequent times.

1. Soliciting or exchanging copyrighted digital media is not tolerated on this website.
2. NSFW posts are not allowed. If a particular subject/link is not appropriate for viewing at work, DO NOT post it.
3. Use the Classifieds forums for transactions. You must be a member for 60 days to post in the Classifieds. Do not post For Sale / Wanted ads outside of the Classifieds forums.
4. Do not create posts containing vulgar, profane, abusive, racist or hateful language or expressions, epithets or slurs, text, photographs or illustrations in poor taste, inflammatory attacks of a personal, racial or religious nature. Attempts to defeat the built-in censor will be met harshly.
5. This is not a singles bar. This is a car forum, keep your matchmaking elsewhere.
6. This is not a “free-speech” site. The admins have final say on forum rules.
7. Do not start or continue bullying.
8. Do not post just to raise your post count.
9. Public Roads:
   • 10a. Street racing posts are not permitted. Street racing is illegal and stupid and Contour.org does not condone it.
   • 10b. Do not talk about your high-speed escapades on public roads.
   • 10c. Videos of aggressive driving must clearly show a track event/autocross event. Saying that the road is closed is not enough. See also Rule 11.
10. Do not drive and film. Posting pictures or videos of a tach/speedometer at ANY speed is not allowed.
    What this means to you:
    • 11a. Speedometer/Tachometer photos must show zero miles/km per hour.
    • 11b. Posting video of you holding the camera while driving down the street is not allowed.
    • 11c. Exceptions: Clearly recorded at a designated race location (Closed Course/Raceway) and video recording is clearly captured by a fixed (mounted) camera.
11. Registering more than one account is not allowed.

You are granting us with a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your Content in connection with the Service. You retain copyright over the Content.

Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitations of Liability: You acknowledge that you are using the service at your own risk. If you are a California resident, you waive California civil code section 1542, which states, in part; “a general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.”
