Here's our 53 Caddy that I posted about a while back. It's made with many of the parts from the 53 Corvette (including the Blue Flame 6). Initially GM planned on producing both roadsters...only one hit production.

This car was the centerfold in Motor Trend's February 1955 issue...

Rounding out the odd cars is the Woodhill Wildfire...she's still in the restoration phase as the bumpers and grill still need put on.

I hate you.

There's no need to hate...

The white walls aren't very white anymore.

Yeah, the car's been sitting for a while. Considerations have been made to have it restored some, but don't want to ruin any of the originality. Besides, some aspects of what is considered original and what the car actually has done since to it are hard to depict (in other words, I don't think the red portion is original). It's a tougher game with prototypes...especially when you don't have much to go on. One small mistake can cost thousands on an investment.

Sweet. How did you get a hold of it?

The Caddy was purchased off of Tom Monaghan when he was dumping all his cars a while back (somewhere around 95 IIRC). This was one of probably 250 vehicles he eventually got rid of...his garage was pretty amazing.

The Woody was grabbed at an auction...from what I understand, the car had been filmed in a few movies from back in the 50's

that wildfire looks like a mix of an MGA and a cobra...funky

Yeah, it's got a fiberglass hood and trunk that don't latch very well. There are some aspects of this car that just scream 'kit', but it's different definitely gets noticed. Through some research by my family, the car is one of 300...and only 40 or so are said to be left.

So it's 1 of 40 uglies? LOL! Not an appealing car at any price IMO. I'll take the Caddy though.

Is the Caddy steel or 'glass? I love that thing. I've had a soft spot in my heart for old Caddies though for quite a while. I will own at least 1 nice 59 caddy...
