Anyone ever tried Rolling their front and rear fender?

D'Oh!!! THAT'S what needs to be done to run wider/bigger tires?

Someone should tell Antonio that he could have run at LEAST a 19" rim if he'd known about this procedure. Hell, X could have run 20's!!

Of course, Antonio DID have 19's and X DID have 20's.. :D

Kw8z3boi,

yes.. rolling your fenders is an OLD... OLD OLD OLD method used WAY before Contours, and on Contours as well. There were well documented how-tos posted on how to roll your fenders, and massage them in with a rubber mallet, etc, etc. You will probably have to check the old forums (www.contour.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php) and look in the forums there for the sticked how-tos.

Either have them drive while you do the fender or vice versa. it will get ugly quick if noone is watching that bat and guiding it!

Dang those are some seriously slim tires. I don't think you would have any rubbing issues even if it were slammed.

so the front wouldn't rub if I lowered my car. By the way I have ICW Jet Gloss 25 18". 18x8.5 and tires are 215/40/18. I'm planning to lower it when I roll the rear fenders.
That is a really wide wheel to be runnin on a tour not to mention the fact that those are way skinny tires for that wide of a wheel. depending on your offset you may or may not rub

Well I run 225/35 on my 19's and they def rub when I hit a bump or something similar. But besides those unfrequent times, the tires do not rub. But when they do, those sharp edges eat your tires QUICK!!! I'm planning on just using a mallet and then touching up the edges.

Rolling my Fenders is one of the things i have on my "To-Do" list... i'm just waiting to do it right, with an actuall fender-roller, that way you get a nice clean tight pinch on the inner lip, you can get a slight flair on the fender's themselves if your patient and carefull enough and its not as easy to chip paint off as with a mallet or the old baseball bat methods

If your car is a bit older, be prepared for your paint to crack off when you try rolling your fenders. I started to roll mine in the rear and the paint started cracking so I just stopped. I didnt want rust showing up in the future.
