wrecked a couple months ago....yes my car is the purple one that got violated in the rear by an F250, well here is how it sits right now in my driveway

Sprayed the car on monday and of course it had to snow the entire way home afterwards....(SNOW, in TX WTF?!?!)

tell me what you think, pictures do not do the paint justice, im only 18 but the paint on this looks 5X better than the paint on my dad's 04 f150, BTW the paint is hunter green metallic

Rattle can or gun? What kind of paint? Watch for orange peeling if the air is moist. Looks pretty good to me. Kinda hard to tell its hunter green, I might have gone with a lighter shade closer to a brg. DIY paint jobs are always a PITA. Definitely something murphy's law applies to. Good job regardless. :cool:
 
i sprayed the car at school in our spray booth, i used some cheap ass 4th dimension paint (was mismatched so i got a gallon for $20) i used a Snap-On Excaliber HVLP spray gun, this is the first COMPLETE car i have sprayed from start-to-finish

and your going to get orange-peel almost every-time unless you have been painting for a career for more years than i have been alive, ive been spraying for less than 1yr, car is dirty in pic, washing and waxing this weekend, will get better pics up then

this paint job was easy, this is what im going to do for a career, not too bad for a rookie eh?
 
i have thought about going into that myself. painting has always interested me and there is nothing more pleasing to the eye than a glassy new fresh coat of paint.
 
thats the honest-to-god truth, there isnt really anything better than having strangers come up to your car and ask who did the paint on my taurus...lol....when i say i did it, some look at me like im a lying lil bastard, but im not talking about those people

you shouldnt wash or wax the car, the paint is still 'wet' meaning you can fudge up the paint. let it set for a few weeks to let it fully dry
 
its normally said that you should wait to wax until 90 days. umm washing should be fine. you might find a lot of body shops wash your car before they give it back to you.
 
I worked as a detailer at a body shop and you're not supposed to wax for 90 days after it's been sprayed... You can was it but do not spray high pressure directly on the car. Don't use a brush either...

Looks good BTW... Did you paint the door jambs also?
