Caster Camber plates

I installed the front upper camber/caster adjustment plates a few months back along with the Koni Sport kit and the very top plates are moving around when they are supposed to stay still. Because of this my alignment is changing all the time and causing rapid wear on my front tires. Has anyone heard of this before? Any sugestions?

The upper plates do not control camber. Your alignment is not actually changing. The upper plates have to be loose to allow normal suspension movement.

They actually shouldn't be "loose". They should be torqued to 45 ftlbs. That is what was specifed in the instructions. I also just installed that set up and the plates have not moved from there location that was set at the alignment shop.

The upper cover plates are not torqued. The retaining nut is torqued. The nut has a shoulder so it will not clamp down on the cover to hold it tightly against the strut tower.

It helps to transfer over the rebber pad from the stock cover. It's a little thicker. It looks better too. It also may help to remove the retaining nut and file down the bottom surface. Don't take off too much. Just enough to obtain a gentle crush to better hold the plate from spinning.

so how many nuts it takes, one for the strut, then comes a camber plate and then comes the second retaining nut on top , right?

1 for the strut hat, and 1 for the camber plate. I usually push down on the plate and hand tighten it... then tighten it a 1/2 turn with a wrench, and check it for the next couple days to make sure it hasn't come loose. By doing this (not much torque), I split one of the OEM rubber rings. I've since switched back to the rubber supplied with the kit and have had no distortion problems.
