I have been using the 'high mileage' semi synthetic oil by valvoline in my car when doing oil changes and noticed castrol and quaker state also have high mileage oils. Are these three oils practically the same? The valvoline 5L jug is a dollar cheaper than the castrol and quaker state, but thats about all i know for differences in them. Just looking for yours guys opinions and comments here on these oils....

Thanks

All Castrol all the way here. Depending on your mileage you may even be able to pick up an engine warranty via Castrol, http://castrolcrew.com/Warranty/

Plus Castrol uses in house developed additives instead of "off the shelf" additives for their products.

Castrol Edge w\Syntec Power Technology (77,000) in the SVT and Edge w\Titanium Fluid Strength in the van (146,000). I've been using Castrol for years and have never had an oil related issue, and I've gone WAY past recommended change intervals even on their conventional (not on purpose of course). I get great performance out of both engines, and both engines are still getting near new gas mileage (with in just a few miles of rated).

**EDIT** if your talking for your Contour forget the part about the warranty, for vehicles 6 yrs and newer.. Sorry about that, been awhile since I had looked at that info.
