My contour has a little under 72k on it. So far i have had to do the following maintence and repairs.

Running Mobil1 extended life, have 14k on it, and hasnt burned any oil yet.
Crackshaft sensor: the pins in the connector got wallered out and i had to tighten them with a some plyers at the connector. (this is a horrible problem, as it will intermitently run)
Fuel filter x2, goes bad fast. 60k and 70k
replaced belts at 70k
Replace batery 2 times. When these go you the car acts like a demon is in it. The tack, trip and odomerter went to max, and the car was at idel in the burker king drive through.

cleaned the IAC to de moose every 3 months.

Other than that, no major problems, the synthetic is much cleaner that the old oil i used even after 12k, old 3k oil was black.

Check engine light has been on for 3 years, the o2 sensors are shot, and i replaced them went bad 3 months later. runs fine might make me some MIL elimators.

Update:
75k Needed new passenger window regulator and motor.

My 'mondeo' is 5 years old and has 38k miles on it.

Apart from tyres i have not had to replace anything.

My 'Cougar' is almost 8 years old and has 65,555 miles on it [original owner].

alternator has been replaced
2 water pumps have been replaced
battery has been replaced
all suspension components routinely fail and are replaced basically yearly.

mine has 20k had to replace water pump at 9k fuel pump at 12k and trans mount twice, o yeah bought car in 2oo1 with 5k trans went 3 days later ford would not warranty.

My '98 SVT has 168,000 miles on it, bought it with 33k miles on it.

Replaced the water pump once.
Replaced Rack and Pinion at about 105k
swapped suspension to H&R/Koni in Feb 2003 out of want, not need
replaced o2 sensors once that I recall...
replaced crank position sensor and harness at 165k
A few other things before the extended warranty expired at 100k miles, but I can't remember them all, but not much since then.

Otherwise it has basically been routine stuff...
oil change every 3k miles using regular Quaker State 5w30 (level always full before change)
changed transaxle fluid at 90k miles (about time again...)
new brake pads and rotors twice (the second time just before taking it on a road course with 150 k miles on it already)
new plugs at 90k and at 160k, new plug wires at 160k (all from maintenance, not need)
new tires a few times (2 sets summer since '01, 2 sets all season since new)

All in all, a fairly reliable car that has been paid off since December '03

I have 176,000 miles on my 98 GL V6 MTX:

80,000 miles: Water pump (doh!)
100,000 miles: Rear brakes
125,000 miles: Front brakes
130,000 miles: O2 Sensor(s?)
140,000 miles: Fuel pump
160,000 miles: Alternator

Still on original clutch and suspension (it's riding a bit harsh now.)

Other than the water pump, standard stuff for most any car. Up to 100,000 I pretty much followed the factory maintainence schedule. I do oil changes about every 4,000 miles and I replace stuff like PCV valve periodically, have the coolant flushed every 3 years or so, keep the air and fuel filter changed regularly, etc.

My Contour has just over 181K (bought new 2/23/00 with 35 miles). Other than the normal stuff (fluids, filters, brakes, tires, etc), I've replaced the IAC valve, the TPS, the alternator, the fuel pump, the HVAC fan resistor, A/C condenser (thanks to a wayward raccoon), and that's it. Everything else is original.

I'm at 81.5k miles. Replaced the wp, front rotors/pads, 9 plugs/2 pairs of wires, 1 tire, 1 trans mount and other odds and ends, but nothing significant. However, this spring, I'll be upgrading the suspension.

Around 50k miles the car sat at my folks home during the winter for about 2 months untouched. When I returned, the car wouldn't start. It ended up being a clogged IAC.

My mom's tour on the otherhand has had everything replaced. It's at 110k miles now. Replaced front strut/springs, tranny rebuild, flexplate replaced, starter, 8 tires , fuel pump, and currently the alternator.

my 98 SE zetec 65k bought it with 45k
Alternator @ 58K
New plugs/wires (not needed)
needs new rear suspension (spring 07)
Wiper Blades
I plan on buying a new Water pump for reserves and some new struts for my H&R's

Don't know if I qualify!! I just bought my first contour, I had a 97 taurus sho that I sold and bought this. Anyway, it has 128,000 miles and I replaced the engine, I have a noise in the rear when I hit bumps and the startup idle seems to be high. But, other than that I have driven it a couple weeks and seems to be great!!

95k on mine, only owned it for 4 months now. only known prob the last dude had was the usual alternator replacement and he also had to replace the water pump... other than that, mine was all stock when I got it, and i've slowy just been doing lil things here and there to mod mine. ordering my Mirko Friday! Woot! Woot!

I have 110,205 miles on my 98' Contour and I've driven every mile! It has only had one major repair, and that was the timing belt at around 79,000 miles. I still am having problems with the A/C, which in Florida is going to suck in May!

1998 E0 SVT #4326: 76,000mi I've only had the car 5 months, only problem i've had (and still working on fixing) is the god :censored: Shift Tower Bolt that sheered off (common problem for MTX-75's) other then that from the service receipts i got w/ the car, its had to be re-keyed and the ac condensor has been gone through and worked on. thats about it. i know the water pump will have to be replaced soon (If it hasn't already) because the impeller is plastic and wears/breaks faster then the metal impellers, so look out for that. Either way the upgraded water pump isn't expensive at all, just putting it in might be a little bit of a PITA.
