I have a leak concerning the two vacuum lines that plug into the top of the UIM. The lines themselves are fine, but the plastic clip isn't sealing up against the UIM properly.

When I press down on the top of the 90° line fitting, my idle smooths out quite a bit. I had a few ides on how to fix this but figured some of you had experienced this before.

1. Seal the clip to UIM with Hi-Temp RTV
2. Replace the clip (if possible?)
3. Wrap the clip with nylon thread tape and re-install (I don't know how that stuff holds up to heat...)

You guys/gals have any ideas? TIA,

Dan

Replacing the clip would be the surest way to do it but a wrap of electrical tape would probably get you by in the mean time.

Thank you Team Ford Parts! I'm not sure if this is 100%, but it looks like

9H490 is the plug
2A411 is the clip

that part comes from Ford as a 3 piece set: plastic barell, metal barell which is an insert in the UIM (no need to replace) and a rubber o-seal, that comes under the plastic barell and seals the connector.. after changing mine, I had a real problem to get the vacuum connector back to the UIM, but made it and definitely got rid of the vacuum issue on the brake booster line... cost me something like 10$..
