Remove fuel rail and place the hose in a bucket at the end of it.

How to activate fuel pump using a battery trickle charger:
-Trace the wire harness wires and find the two indicated below.
-Brown wire with yellow stripe is negative.
-White wire with black stripe is positive.

It will spit and sputter when it empties like when you are done taking a wiz in the toilet. This helps for the people that are parting cars and want to save the tank or if you want to clean your tank and re-use the fuel after you are done. I hope this help someone.

Question: Wont this hurt your fuel pump since there might be a lot of sludge before its all emptied? I can see how you might not care if youre parting out a car.

I guess it could. I just wanted the fuel to use in my lawnmower ;). Pump ran for about 20 minutes for 8 gallons of gas.

actually I always just pull the fuel pump relay and jumper it with a piece of wire. learned it from a Mechanic I used to work for. had a car that wouldn't start the gas was so old and that is old in a fuel injection car.

it worked like a charm

That first video was for a returnless fuel pump, this video is for a return style fuel pump:

-Black wire is negative.
-Purple wire with orange stripe is positive.

That's about the easiest way to do it.
