So im getting ready to have a clutch installed in my car and the mechanic told me oem is high quality and so and so and he wouldnt perfer aftermarket. I would say cool but he trying to charge me 1100 for everything but the good thing is that it comes with a 12month 12 000 mile warranty and I aint built like that. This other guy told me and he told me 700 for aftermarket clutch installed. How would my car react to aftermarket a clutch? Does it matter? Is it different? Would the life be shorter? Where should i go to get it put in?

I dont plan to do nothin major like nos, turbo, supercharger. Just basic upgrades like intake header exhaust. That's it

ok. I told the mechanic that i wanted an oem svt clutch and he ordered one for me. But I got charged a extra 100 bucks. So now im up to 1200. This is getting pricey. Thanks guys for all ur help. Now it's time to start doing mods.

Hi i am a manager @ a bodyshop and by aftermarket we mean cheap **** parts, Aftermarket is not always cheap **** it technically means not oem, but the reason the aftermarket is cheaper cuz its garbage parts, if you purchase a good spec 1 aftermarket clutch its gonna beat the oem but do not ever buy "aftermarket" parts from a shop unless its performance aftermarket.

Yea i got a oem svt clutch and now flywheel. My car still in the shop. The three days they told me is turning into a week in a half and im starting to get pissed.

As long as it's done right, I wouldn't mind a little extra time taken. I just don't know why these cars are treated like they're some sort of anomaly in the automotive world. There have to be harder cars to work on than these. And it's not like they were limited edition low volume vehicles. They're all over the place! Even some of the dealers don't care to work on them. I wonder if our European brethren have the same problems with the Mondeo?

Now the week in a half that i was depending on is turning into 2 weeks. The mechanic told me today that they found metal fragments inside my master cylinder. He said they tried flushing it out but they cant get it out which to me is bullsh*t. So they going to order a oem master cylinder and wont get to the shop till either friday or saturday meaning i should have my car either monday or tuesday he said:nonono: . Im getting very heated now. Like at my face:mad: . I want it to be right but that shop has rip me off of enough money.
