well the rack is where it belongs...on the GLI :) im hoping more of you will approve of this one, haha...oh ya and thats my recently aquired pimp bike...1987 Dyno Compe

Red VW's are teh gheyz. Backpedal to brake?

no back pedal to break. Its a bmx bike work the same as mountain bike for back pedaling, chain just spins no brake. hes gotta get brake cables.

though i would say just take off the front to save weight.

ya no coaster brakes on this relic, haha, naw ill leave the front brake on...that way i can do endo's  haha and weight isnt an issue with this bike esp. with mag wheels...its pretty heavy and is basically for flatland

The rack is looking far more appropriate on the Jetta, though I'm not sure about that travesty on top of it! Maybe I'm just not a bike enthusiast. Still waiting to see a post witih Jetta with a mountain bike (complete with missing front wheel).

j/k of course. :)

ya you kinda have to be into old school bmx to appreciate the bike...had the mountain bikes up on there on sunday but no camera around, haha, and these racks allow you to keep the front wheel on (agreed it looks better with the front wheel off but this rack is easier and keeps me from having front wheels in the trunk/rear seat)

ps im sure you grew up in the 80's, how can you not be down with the dyno?! haha

Man, I really gotta get my parents to ebay my brother's old bike. It's still sitting in their basement. His is pretty much that same exact bike, only it's a weird dayglow pink/red color.

I remember having a bike like that ... it was a redline with black mag wheels.

I left it on the front lawn one summer day and the wheels warped in the sun.

Respect -- Marshfield / Duxbury related question for you. The Ranch House, down near Duxbury beach -- when did it close? I've heard it was a cool bar -- plus it looks the part. A little like a bar I used to go to in Montana.

Speaking of bars and bikes, there's this dive up in Beverly that a couple buddies and I used to go into -- the big draw was cheap beer and free pool, not the clientele. Near one wall on the ceiling hung a Hutch BMX bike. One of my friends always had his eye on that thing, wanted to talk the bartender into selling.

the ranch house closed probably close to 5 years ago...ya from what ive heard it was cool place to hang out...they had picnic tables instead of booths, could get pretty rowdy too...esp. being by the beach

an old hutch hanging from the ceiling? thats pretty sweet...that'll fetch a prett penny on ebay these days, haha
