Well I'm graduating in a few months and have a pre-commissioning loan burning a hole in my pocket. So it was time to swap the fiances Mystique and my SVT for some new digs. She wanted a compact, capable, "tuff" SUV, and we decided on an '02 Jeep Liberty Renegade. Cactus Green, 59k, owned by a Jeep employee, 2.5" lift, new all season rubber, auto. And without further ado, the pics from the sale, but we'll get some of the Jeep in it's "element" soon enough (gotta love Colorado!).

Oh and we're still working on selling our cars, and I'm in the market for an Acura TSX w/ Navigation. But this should tide us over for a while! :)

Haha, I won't lie to ya, I hated the Liberties when they first came out. After doing some research and finding out how capable these little beasts were, they began to grow on me. Agreed on beefing up the clearance (read bigger, knobbier tires!!), however I have to keep in mind that this is the to-be wife's ride. 2.5" is plenty for a little occasional fun and some seriously stout Colorado snow capability. And for your viewing entertainment, here's some pics of the Liberty's off road capabilities which sold me on this being the right car for us. Oh and we've got that Renegade hood decal in the mail, coming in flat black.

There's nothing like a little 4-wheeling shenanigans! What does the wife want? I don't think the deletion of those 'bars would make it much harder to get into the truck:shrug: ? Don't mean to be persistant, just wondering. I've never stepped into one.

We'll consider it, but I'm trying to walk the line between pushing my off roading dreams on her and letting her pick out just how far she wants to go in the offroad/bad ass wife direction.

Sweet man, seems alot of us getting new rides these days.

Yep, saw yours too, congrats. Although I love these boards, you can only drive a car for so long and then it's time to move on. The SVT has been good to me and I know that I'll never find another car with the character that it has, but I also know I want something a little more reliable and with some heated leather!!

Not me, I have had vader for 6 years and will ALWAYS own it, same with the 3l turbo, bought it a few days ago and will never sell it.

Nice ride! I'm considering selling the Lexus in the next year or so and getting a small SUV. These Renegades seem to really have everything I like. Other small SUVs don't really do much for me.

These small SUVs are pretty neat little cars. I just couldn't stand the "soccer mom"ness of all the other ones like the Escape, CRV, Rav4, etc. Look like an SUV, but let's be honest, they aren't capable of much "Utility" besides hauling people around in at most mildly snowy weather. Had to get something with the cojones to back it up.

Only thing I wanted that it didn't have (she thinks it's perfect though), is to get the upgraded interior. There's some chrome/brushed aluminum accents on the steering wheel, door handles, gauges, shift lever, etc. That and leather, but we do a lot of dog hauling, so it just wasn't practical to find one with leather. So I might try and find a dead Liberty in a junkyard and replace some trim pieces down the line, but I'm relatively happy with where it is now, aside from just adding a few things like a snowboard rack/roof basket, clear bra, some stickers (she wants to put an Oscar the Grouch face on it) and perhaps investing in a set of mud tires/wheels. Like the looks of a brush guard, but you lose the tow hooks which if you know anything about off roading are essential.

Congrats on the purchase. As far as the TSX goes they are nice but if you can afford a little more I would say go for the TL. My parents were looking at both and the TL is way nicer ride wise and interior wise(they chose the TL). The seats extend further at the base and I'm not a tall guy(5'9") and it felt like it didn't support my legs enough. Only draw back to Fort Collins and Acura is that if it is under warranty you have to drive to Boulder to get it worked on. Markley does not do any warranty work on Acuras.

Both are great vehicles they get 34 plus highway miles(on premium). But you might want to try checking out Boulder Acura they have some good deals on pre-owned vehicles and extend the warranty. Good guys to deal with too.

Congrats on the new ride! Post pics quick of your off-roading adventures in the grouch.
I've wanted a vehicle capable of going on some off-roading paths, but I also feel like i need a non suv for some reason, so purchase of said off-roading truck/suv will have to wait for now.
Luck!

Put cheap springs on your CSVT and hit the trals before they settle.
