OK, for all of you who helped on the Sub question, many thanks! I have another speaker selection question.

My fordaur also has some crappy furd tweets up front that I''d like to replace. What is the opinion of replacing them with some extended/full range drivers instead of a dedicated "tweeter".

Something like one of these:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-842

Or should I just stick a TB tweet in there? I figure the stock cross over will be there to keep the freqs from the woof/mid and the full range drivers from muddying each other, and all of those speakers have a frequency response up 20,000hz and the human ear cant' really distinguish much above 18,000. But the heftier speeker might provide some extra db.

if you're going to start replacing tweeters, and midbasses you're better off waiting untill you can afford proper crossovers (or think about running an active frontstage) instead of running them off what you have now. It will only cause sound quality problems because you don't have enough power to run them, or the crossover is set way to low and you have a tweeter trying to play full range.

I vote to run active, I have a set of PG 6.5 component running off a powerbass 400.4, sounds worlds better then what they did off the included crossovers in the kit.

The stock jaguar has crossovers that seem to dok o at imaging and sound stage I just really think the speakers are the weak point when it comes to at high volume. I can build my own crossovers, when and if I decide to run power that's not stock.

high volume doesn't have so much to do with the speaker persay, it does, but power comes into play then... you will notice a little voume increase through a new set but in the end its going to be a better solution and you will probably be more satisfied going with a amped setup in the front stage (and i'm not talking about a stock amp)

Well, like I mentioned before I'm not looking for "show winning SPL/SQL" or whatever. The difference in clarity and volume I'm looking for, while noticeable isn't earth shattering. Who knows, mayber after I get used to this setup I'll get something like a 3sixty sound manager and some amps, just not right now.

For now I'm only replacing the factory subs(if you can even call them that) and the tweets. My main question is are there any potential issues with replacing a dedicated tweet with a small full range driver like the ones listed above?

well yeah, i assume your "stock jaguar crossovers" are set for a tweeter so you would probably get the best clarity and output with a dedicated tweeter rather than a full range driver.
