I was just wondering if anyone makes them. Or has ever thought about it. I don't really like the rig job of small pieces of rubber hose. If someone were to make some the washers and clips might still be used but I think it would be preferable and maybe even get rid of some shifter slop.

But don't you have to adjust them after you put them in? Besides I'm sure they are a lot more expensive than 30 mins of work and a polyurethane compound.

I have made one out of delrin on the lathe. it worked really good. dont have to adjust the shifter as long as it fits snug into the cable

yes but the adjustment is very easy to complete. don't even really need the centering tool. last I check the two ends where around $12 each from the dealer. I got a set from sam for $20 each. and it will be close if you mark the possition of the old end before removing it.

Yes, it should be adjusted after installing it. If you just pop it on, your shifter may not line up with some of the gears perfectly. I don't think it would be enough to stop from shifting but enough to bother you when you shift quickly.

i didnt have to replace the entire end. the way i did it is probably sturdier than the stock clips that are in the end
I was saying that if you replace the end link then you have to adjust it.
But yes I would much prefer what you did but i don't have access to a lathe.

If you just get new ends then what about the next time you pull them off. Then you are back to the same problem if they break. I don't think they are designed to be repeatedly put on and taken off like that so why not just make some bushings? All you need is an old set of end links to use for a mold and the polyurethane.
