PW question

Well, a few weeks ago I had some knuckle dragging troglodyte break into my car, bending my glass channel in the process. After waiting for a week for the dealership to not order the part (which they have to get from Detroit) I bought a complete door at a wrecking yard. The only problem is that I can't get the window down to remove it.

Here's the question-How do I roll down a power window on a door that is not connected to a car?

If you got the complete door, you should see the wires sticking out of the door towards the A frame. Hot wire it to a battery and press the down button on the switch.

Thanks for the replies. The door still has the full electrical connector, but there are a mess of holes in that thing. Which positions are ground and hot?

The switch reverses ground and hot depending on if the window is going up or down. Just try it, and if it tries to go up, reverse your jumper wires to the window motor.
