Looks good. Not sure if i would do it..But still looks good.Maybe a smaller shot catching that and some of the car dash etc..If you can get some more pics

What method did you use to seperate the lens from the backing?

Cant you just take a screw driver to it and pry it apart? Its probably been about 5 years since Ive taken it apart to swap out the SVT gauges and then the indiglos. From what I remember, it was fairly straight forward.

the lens does just pop off but the part that was painted is part of the lens ... they are glued together from the factory ...

yea itrs really simple. dremel and cut off bits, just go aroudn the edge and be real careful cuz the lens cracks easily but dont worry if it cracks a bit the dash covers it back up. FYI damn near impossible to separate perfectly. after you paint it with your method of choice... i used an airbrush. just glue back together and your good to go.

Not to sound dumb but what does a dremel look like and how much can I pick one up for?

you can pick one up at the Home Depot, or Lowes for about $70...its well worth it ;)

ok thanks for the info. Turns out my neighbor had one so he let be borrow it. I let you all know how it turned out. Thank you.

Here's what I did with mine:

Got 'em on Ebay from Germany. All I had to do was remove the cluster and I was able to insert them from the back & hot glue them in place at the back. When I'm done with the car I can removed them easily & peel away the glue to get the car back to stock.
Came out very clean. I like an understated look.

redneck-

they are typically called mondeo trim rings. if you go on ebay and put in mondeo rings, you will usually come up with at least 2 sellers- often in the ebay stores. about $29. bucks plus shipping.

someone should do a photo how-to on this. just a thought......lakeside
