I'm hooking up a ProForm shift light, and the instructions say to tap a wire coming from the ECU for the rpm input. They list it as pin #48, a white wire with a black stripe. Can anyone verify this?

Do yourself a favor and search the old forums for info on this. The info is there. Plus, I started a thread about how the instructions were incorrect on which wire to cut for a V6. At least mine were.

Yes that is it. I had to access it when hooking up a cluster w/ a tach from one w/o a tach. Just be aware it isn't easy to get to, and make sure everything works before you secure it.

OK, I finally got off my ass today and figured out the problem. As the instructions say, I cut the brown loop for 6 cyl. operation. Well, thats the wrong one. Through a process of elimination, I figured out that you should cut the ORANGE wire loop only. So, after reconnecting the brown wire loop and cutting the orange one, it works fine. I knew it wasnt my fault!

From the old forum. I think you might have got a bum one, though... I think someone would have contacted them by now if the instructions were wrong on every single unit.....

Well at least you found it. Maybe mine was a bum unit. At least if yours doesnt work either and you know its wired correctly you know what you might start checking.

Resurrecting an old thread...

We finally got the car back together enough that I can turn it on, and lo and behold, the shift light doesn't fire at the shift point it's set to. It does light up when the car is turned on, though. So, tomorrow I'm going to try rewiring it as Kingpin has suggested.

Does anyone else have a Proform light? Were your wires teh funkeye too?

Sounds familiar! Let us know what you find. Maybe we'll have to send a "collective" email.

FWIW, mine works great, but the instructions were most definitely incorrect.
