Is the IAC for the SVT different from the IAC for the other 2.5 Contours? Not sure why it would be, but Rockauto lists different Motorcraft parts at drastically different prices, and I want to make sure I grab the right part.

That's strange, I'm sure they are the same. My '95 does have a different IAC than a SVT, the harness connection is different.

Rockauto shows different part numbers for the IAC but when you cross reference them they come up as the same part number if looking it up by applicatoin. The TPS are different; use the motorcraft/rockauto number "DY967" to cross reference the correct part. An SVT TPS at autozone, by application, shows a TPS246 and the Motorcraft number results in TPS245. I believe the major difference in the two is the direction the sensor is supposed to rotate.

The only reason i mention this is because i found out the hard way ;)

I've been using RA and Motorcraft numbers to cross reference parts anytime I go non-OEM. AZ still doesn't know the difference between E0 and E1 brakes

Does autozone have the correct TPS?

Yes, it is the part number TPS245. I was just using AZ as an example. You can do it at just about any parts store, and actually the Motorcraft number I referenced was from Rockauto's site so that is NOT Ford's real part number. I just often found rockauto's numbers to be a good way to find the correct parts for "specialty/unique" cars.

I've been running an AZ TPS for a year or so and haven't had issues, but, I've also been running an IAC from them as well. I purchased that before knowing how much better the Ford one was. Highly recommend going Motorcraft for IAC

As I recall the IAC has been revised a number of times over the year, for all cars. As referenced there shouldn't be any difference in them other then revision level.

FWIW, the different Motorcraft Part Numbers on RockAuto do cross reference to different IAC Valves at Autozone but not at Advance:

Interesting, despite the different part numbers, at autozone, I believe their system looks up the correct IAC but not the correct TPS, at least when i bought mine a year or so ago.

Edit: Upon further inspection on the AZ site, the only visual difference i can tell is that the solenoid (i think its a solenoid) looks longer on the non-svt version. Not sure if the valves function differently or not

Yeah, not sure what to make of it, but I'm going to try cleaning mine first and replacing the gasket. For anyone who comes across this post in the future the gasket part numbers are:

Ford OEM: E83Z-9F670-A
Dorman: 90102

Advance Auto has them in store for $5.

They do, but I'm going to try cleaning this one first. A $5 fix is better than a $50 fix if the valve is just sticking from build up.

Used the SVT specific part number from Autozone today and worked like a charm. No more throttle hang.

I dunno if this will help anyone, but here the the Ford OEM part number for the IAC valve:

XS2Z-9F715-BC (This is for my 1999 CSVT)

They retail for almost $180 at the dealer.

And with Ford the gasket is separate and the part number is listed above in a previous post.
