I like the clean black plastic that matches all the other under-hood pieces and obscures the coolant deposits in the tank. It also eliminates the overflow tube near the cap and replaces it with an internal vent system. Much cleaner overall.

I like that .

There's a bunch of them on eBay UK, just have to keep looking until you find a reasonable deal after conversion rates. GBP is down to $1.60 these days so I kept my eye out for a cheap one and jumped on it. Fortunately it was in great shape and the seller was willing to ship overseas.

You also have to ditch the level sensor (Mondeos don't have one) and put a jump wire in the connector to keep the light from coming on.

Looks fine - but I just taped off and shot my stock coolant reservoir with satin black paint and it looks pretty much exactly like that. Plus, I get to keep my coolant level sensor...

I replaced my cracked one with a used one blu_fuz had. Then that one cracked too, so I went baller mode and bought a new clear one! Probably the best option for how hot and dry it is here. Wont be painting it for a while, im sure. I do like the black though.

Change in temp probably did yours in. I think I got it in the summer. So, figure 20-30* temp change after such a long life in the mid west. It did last a little bit. All love here.

I guess I like the black plastic one because you won't have to worry about it going yellow or having to repaint it over time.
