Thermostat housing removal

On the thermostat housing (not the thermostat) is there a gasket between it and the cylinder head? If so, can it be re-used or do i have to get a new one?

My purpose is im trying to replace my pcv valve, and im following the steps in the Zetec How-to section...

There is a gasket (o-ring, actually) and no you cannot reuse it. It's a common leak location on these engines, especially if your valve cover is leaking oil down onto it.
