So after 7 or so hours of detailing yesterday, i am now a believer. I bought the $120 zaino "total" protection package, plus some scratch/swirl remover. Even though it's a safe bet it's gonna downpour today, I wanted to get some good protection on the car since i find the volvo paint to be EXTREMELY soft. I accidentally grazed the trunk with my fingernail yesterday reaching for the popper, and i scratched it! Seriously, just running your finger over the surface will leave a mark! Not to mention all the swirls i've left ont he car just from normal washing.

All in all I have nothing but good things to say about the product(s). Easy application, easy removal and the deepest shine i've ever seen on a car i've owned. I also went at the interior with their leather cleaner and have to say i can't believe all the crap that came off my seats...and i thought they were clean! And the leather in a bottle conditioner works on all the interior surfaces and smells pretty good too lol! Even their tire shine rocks!

So, here it is...this is 2x wash, 1x clay bar, 2x Z5 for scratched/swirled paint (with zfx additive) and 1x Z2 Pro (with ZFX additive). They say dont' put more than 3 coats of zfx in a 24 hour period, so maybe next week i can put more but without the ZFX. I hope to have atleast 8 coats on by the time the summer is over.

I tried to get some scenic shots...the Intrepid Air/Space museum is in the harbor down here for repairs or something, so I picked that as my backdrop. I wish it were nicer out but oh well....

I also cleaned the motor. I used gunk citrus cleaner and CD2 Engine detailer:

and for goonz...that's a SR71 Blackbird on the end of the ship...I wanted to get closer and swing around the other side of the ship, but i didn't want to get caught in the rain, and the road was too busy to stop ....sucks, but oh well... i tried

So uh...yeah, now all i need are 2 new front tires to fix the noise from uneven wear ($270 a piece!! ) And then let the performance mods begin!!! I have to say it's nice to not be tied down by a fuggin' car payment!

eh...it's actually a crappy area. i was tip-toe'ing around trying not to get dirt on my shoes and then in the car. bad neighborhood too...but good views. there was lots of people parked around there so i didn't have much choice for parking to get better shots.

I also need a better camera and a tripod!

oh, and it's pouring now....dammit

thanks....here's a few more. you can see what i mean about parking, with the dude in his car screaming at someone on the phone lol

i gotta get the side moldings painted....you keep em greasy enough and they look ok, but i don't like them anymore.

thanks guys.

it's 35% (non metallic to not interfere with the radio...antenna is in the rear glass)

i had 35% on my old SVT too. I like the look of darker, but to me it starts to get hard to see out the windows at night, especially the rear.

Looks good.
Get some more pics up when you get some sun too.

I too busted my arse yesterday with Zaino.
We tried out that new All in One on the truck. Pretty cool product.
I am a sore effer today. :(

i grabbed some as i was leaving for work. car looks good even after the rain...though i did dry it off last night. i'll post them when i get home tonight.

Nice background choice:cool:

The car looks great, no doubt about it and sorry to hear about how soft that paint is because that combined w/ black is a nightmare:shocked: I'm sure you'll stay ontop of it now that you see how good it looks!

it says right on the box you only need to use it once or twice a year. after this i'm just gonna use the straight polish...since you have to get rid of any leftover zfx which is wasteful.
