Man I don't know if it's the Vicodin but for some reason I want a Volvo. Anyone want a 98 SVT? I want a 95-96 T5R wagon in the light yellow. Always wanted one. too bad they only came in auto. I don't know how long I'd last in an auto. When I do an autotrader search no manuals in 850R's come up.

you could get a 850R with a 5 speed

I'd like to see one then  because they didn't make them in the US. All 850R's in the US are autos, but you can get the manual in Europe. One of my buddy's has a 97 850R and a 98 850R wagon and he's a true enthusiast. I've had this conversation with him before and he actually ended up buying a manual transmission to put it in, but hasn't had the funds for labor.

Wonder how much work it is? Probably a bit since most late models do. Gonna need the pedal setup, computer, int. trim etc.

Nice wagon! I've always like the Volvo wagons like that. They can be had pretty cheaply around here since rednecks don't buy wagons.

Dang! That ride is SWEET! Not to mention that is the exact kind of car my gf wants, seeing as she just wrecked her Subaru :nonono:. Poor '96 Legacy Outback only had 62k! She totally wants an early-mid 90's Volvo wagon :) or a *cough* late 80's Toyota Camry wagon :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

You have a cool g/f.

Yes, except for the late 80's Toyota Camry wagon thing...That's the type of vehicle that them city-folk (trying to be nice about it... :)) drive. Her mom doesn't want her to get a Volvo, though. She claims parts are "extremely expensive" and whatnot. But I told her nothing would like ever have to be replaced . Volvo = tank

My fiance has a 96 imprezza outback and it is up to 183K miles. So she could have gone a loooooooooooooot longer

I absolutly love this car, its a very fun and family car. The wagon has so much cargo room we can easly fit baby swings, highchairs and such in it with no problem, the contour could never do those things with its trunk. Its funny to see some peoples faces as i tear away from the stop lights, they double take on it, like that was a wagon right. Most hondas have been put in their places, no ricers mess with me. The wifes care have over 240k on it and the speedodometer broke and it hasnt been recording the miles for the past 2 years, we expect it to last a long time. But i have been hunting for the 1997 red 850R, if i can find it im defently scooping it up and the wife will get the wagon. If you are really looking for the volvo check out www.volvospeed.com tons of resources.

I'm still saddened by her accident. If her friend (passenger) had been wearing her seatbelt, she wouldn't have hit her head on the windshield, resulting in an ambulance trip. She had the mildest bump on her head, so it was bogus. And, if the ambulance trip didn't happen, I'm sure the insurance company would have paid for her car ($500 deductible) and the "$4k" damage that it suffered (airbags deployed). I personally claimed that the damage was not nearly that much. No fluid losses from the engine, all engine parts in tact. Right front panel, hood, windshield, bumper, headlights, maybe radiator if it got damaged would have needed to be replaced...I wasn't aware of any damage to the wheels/steering/suspension as I only saw pics of the front of the car. I told her mom that it'd probably be worth it to fix that car, though, as long as she found the right person to fix it for cheaper... ONLY 62KKKKKKKKKKK jeez.

I spoke to a guy a couple weeks ago at a Saturday morning car show who has a sedan version of that car and he told me his neighbor works for Bosch and took his computer and re-flashed it and it really woke it up, well, that combined with a better exhaust! "Sleeperz" rule, period:cool:

Boxy old Volvo's FTW!!!

My brother has an 850 Glt 5-speed. 150K on the original clutch and trans w/o any issues. And he definitely doesn't baby it. Very very solid cars.

I am pretty sure they made a T5 manual version but it was very rare. I guess people like to swap the turbo engine into a regular 5-speed car.
