I bought another Contour, but there is a check engine light on it. The car is a 1998 Contour SE V6 ATX. Previous owner said it's because I need to change 2 sensors. He gave me the sensors, but I don't know what they are for and where do they go. I tought I found one today, but the sensor was not exactly the same as the ones I got. Both sensors are identical. One has number 93BB-9J460-AA and the other is 93BB-9J460-AB. On the sensors, there is the plug for the sensor, something called "REF" and something called "HI". Here are pictures of the sensors(well only one of them, since the other is the same). Sorry if the pictures are kind of blurry. Complete sensor Plug Thanks for any information.

Getting the CEL code might help deduce what sensors need changing.

Thanks a lot, this will help me a lot. I just hope I won't have problems accessing the sensors, they seem to be hard to reach.

check the CEL code first.. may not even be that sensor. Autozone scans for free.. just be sure to get a code NUMBER, not what the tech tells you. (its likely the wrong thing anyway.. lol)

LOL. However, as for scanning, not sure if Quebec has Autozones or Advance Autos. You might want to post a "help needed" in the Eastern Canada forum, just in case there might be a CEGer nearby who has a scanner who can help you. Some of the Canadian CEGers are pretty sharp . And just to round off the acronyms, EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), DPFR (Differential Pressure Feedback EGR). Good luck.

Like Tony said, we don't have any place that scan cars for free over here.
I'm pretty sure it's the sensors, because last owner made a checkup on the car and it ended up to be the sensors, so he bought the sensors, but did not replaced them, so he gave me the sensors and now I have to change them. It make sense that it's a faulty engine coolant sensor because I get a light in the dash telling me I miss engine coolant, but the tank is full.
I might find someplace to do a scan just to make sure.
Thanks again.

No, I don't think the DPFE issue is the faulty engine coolant temperature sensor (and that was not what I wanted to show from chongo's post). I just wanted to show you the location of the DPFE sensor.
Your coolant light could be our "quirk". Put in coolant 10 mm above the maximum level and that should take care of it. If not, then you should look at the coolant strength (buy a $5 tester from the autoshops and test).
Edit. If the 10 mm fix doesn't work, read this post to see if you want to try other things. Good luck.
