This was going to be a reply to the other thread about the demise of SVT but I thought I'd start a new thread. So, how many of you guys/gals are members of SVTOA? We've found that after the free one year membership was up, most people didn't stay joined up. I didn't buy my car new so I didn't have the benefit of a free membership so I joined up on my own because I thought it would be the best way of keeping up with things. It could come to light somewhere down the pike that someone within Ford figured not so many people cared about SVT because SVTOA membership didn't remain vital. Sure, they sold every car they made but it's mainly through club membership that fans of the mark had a voice. All I'm saying is that I hope we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot because we thought $70/yr was to high a price to pay. Oh, and you didn't have to have an SVT car to join so I hope that didn't hold anyone back.
Karl

I'm in SVTOA. I joined mostly to participate in the various outings our local chapter puts on.

I'm in SVTOA.

At first I joined the National org thinking it would be cool and fun and whatnot... but there wasn't a local chapter even after the first year so I was going to let the membership lapse. But then a little while later (in early 2003?) a local chapter was formed and I have been involved ever since.

I was the northern NJ President at one point, but with no one other than myself and one other guy to do the work, I gave it up. The chapter has since gone by the wayside. I obviously let my membership lapse as well.

Now, with the demise of the SVT at Ford, I will let my membership lapse. Too bad 'cause I really wanted to get into Sebring again next year.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
