Has anyone in MN had their 'tour serviced for the dashboard recall? Where did you bring it and did they give you a loaner car? I got the recall notice from Ford, but I'm out of warranty and from what I've heard, it's taking a day or two to fix, can't be without my car that long. Just wondering if any of the dealers are being generous with the loaners. . .

I had mine in for this last week, and Apple Valley Ford said they have done some already, but didnt want to do mine because the glue was not upgraded, just some parts of the dash, but that even the replacement peices were doing the same thing. Call to see if you can get a loaner ahead of time.

Good ol' AV Ford. Their service dept. always seemed a little disorganized to me, like the time I called to see if a part I ordered had come in; they put me on hold for a long time then came back and told me my car was already to be picked up, except my car wasn't even there!!!
So are you saying you called ahead and they offered a loaner?

I had my car there for other work that WAS warrantee work, not just the dash recall, so I dont know about a rental in your case.

Why dont you read that letter closer...I think it mentions a loaner vehicle, if not, call the dealership.

By the way, if you find a dealership that has successfully done the repair, please let me know!

Only talk to Kevin Carvinen (SVT mechanic) next time you go to AV Ford...he works m-f 6-2. Hope this helps.

In Robbinsdale, try American Ford in Bloomington. They're not prefect, particularly in their parts department. However, everything they've done has been done right, and I've had no issues with them needing to keep the car, then not getting a loaner or anything like that.

Thanks for the advice. Any of you use Freeway Ford, that's where I bought the car? Or how about Metropolitan Ford, which is near where I work?

I've always heard good things about Freeway Ford, though I've never been there for repairs. I'd consider them worth a shot.

Know nothing on Metropolitan Ford.

if you have an svt, don't go to metropolitan ford. they're not "svt certified". as if it really means anything, i don't know. hopefully it does. but just for your peace of mind, go to somewhere that is svt certified. if you don't have an svt, go there anyway. usually the good dealerships end up being "svt certified". good luck...

I guess I would tend to agree, an SVT certified service dept would be better, even though mine's not an SVT. Do you know if Freeway Ford is SVT certified?
