Well two weeks ago my car was towed to the dealer because the check engine light was flashing and the car was missing and stuff. They told me Monday that there was no compression on cly # 4. They ran some test took the heads off and the piston had a big hole in it.... . So they told me that they had to call Detriot and get a motor build and sent to them so they can install it. I still can't believe that the motor went already.... Has anyone else had have this problem with so few miles on it??

You have a 3L with a turbo, and the dealership looked at it?

Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.

I have the 3.0L engine and i already have built it up with all new parts. I also have a local turbo shop playing around with a turbo setup. But the car now has the stock engine in it..

Are you the only owner?
Get everything and I mean everything fixed/looked at before you get past the three years. That includes taking off your door dings so you do not get stuck with a racing stripe like so many of us.

Hey godzilla, Contours were built at the Claycomo plant in Kansas City, MISSOURI. The only automobile assembly plant in Kansas is the Fairfax General Motors plant. Kansas City spans both the Kansas and Missouri borders, but most of Kansas City is on the MISSOURI side. The little sticker on your window should refer to built in the "show me state" which is Missouri.

Yes, are you the original owner? A holed piston is usually caused by detonation (pinging) so I can only surmise that either non-premium fuel has been used or the knock sensor is malfunctioning. I don't know how likely a piston could have been bad from the factory but I suppose anything's possible.

Karl Yes I am the original owner of the car. I always use 93 or 94 octane and i have had the car to the dealer 3 times prior to this for a check engine light that kept coming on, but they didn't get any codes so the cleared the codes and sent me on my way. The car was also hesitating at that time to when you really got on it. I hope I get my car back this week, I miss her
