Let me start with this: I am new to the Group Buy scene, but have read up on all the rules and regulations. Still, I would expect some form of cooperation in helping a newbie. I am NOT asking for you to run my GB for me. I am, however, open to suggestions as long as they REMAIN suggestions!

Now, you can go back to drinking your beers and half-reading the sentences on your computer screen. Wait...that's what I do.

Anyway, here's the deal. Most of you have seen a few renderings of some "magical Trevor is ever so clever" Contours that I've dreamed up inside my little head. Two door coupes, convertibles, RWD V8s and, yes, even the one that came out as an Eclipse look-a-like (shame on those of you that called it out!). I've been told many times to make it a career of mine, but have turned it down because I believe it would have distracted my liking of what I do. Until now.

This is the bottom line. You PM/send/snail mail/vomit a quality picture of your vehicle to me. I will determine if the angle and size of the picture is worth my time and energy as well as your money and let you know via a return e-mail before I begin any sketching. A good example of the shots I am looking for can be found by searching for 2005 CEG Calendar and perusing that style of photography. In fact, you don't even have to search for it now, because I did it for you.

Here, I will include some more shots that I have personally taken of what I deem is 'calendar worthy', in addition to the ones you can find above.

Don't bother with driveway shots or shots of the day you picked your car up off the used car dealer lot. The big dude that ripped you off probably wouldn't appreciate you photographing your "new" car on his property anyway. However, if you would like to include pictures of the stupid look on your face when you find out that the KBB value of your car is a quarter of what you paid, you can feel free to do so in order to entertain others and amplify your embarrassment. I wouldn't mind a bit.

Below is a prime example of what I sit down and do on the days that I am bored with myself (not THAT way). It is svttour's car and I sketched it out to a satisfaction I was comfortable with.

Don't be stupid and waste a post pointing out that I missed the sideview mirrors, doorhandles and windshield wipers and the fact that his Ford logo says nothing (it's really a Honda). No photo sketch is 100% accurate and I am not perfect. Notice, as well, that there is no color or background. All the things I've done in the past two years have been black and white to shorten completion time and reduce the chance of damaging or smearing the sketch. If your car has multiple colors, I will be more than happy to shade the design on your car using different hues of black, white and grey, but I do not color. I will detail minor backgrounds, such as the car or grass that the car is parked on. I may even add a building or wall behind it if deemed necessary. Do not ask for me to color. Again, I do not color. Do we yet understand that I have no intention of coloring? These are not infant coloring books. It is the reason that I write the color and year of the car in the corner of the sketch when I finish. I will also autograph and number each sketch, giving it that certain authenticity. Can you possibly picture this in a polished frame next to your numbered certificate from SVT?

Cliff notes for those of you that have already finished that 6 pack you had just opened at the top of this page:

-$13 (payment forms consist of only personal checks or cash. I do not have a Paypal account. PM me for my address for you to mail your check to.)
-black and white sketch of your car
-send your own picture
-all sketches done on 8.5"x11" standard computer paper
-shipping on me
-one week before GB closes.

You must send an approved photograph by August 15th! My e-mail address and AIM username are posted in my profile. Feel free to get the information that you need from there.

If you know the build number of your vehicle, let me know and I can put that in the corner as well as the personalized number of your drawing.

Please, if you don't want to participate in the GB, don't waste my time being negative about it. I'm sure there's some political BS thread in CI that you can participate with instead.
