As far as bad wires go there are 4, but you end up replacing 6.

white/red-- Cam Sensor
brown/red--

white/purple--Crank Sensor
brown/white--

black/blue--Cam ground
black/white-- Crank ground

The ground are a major pita. You have to strip the insulation off the wire and wrap the signal wires from the sensors with the bare copper wire. It's to prevent signal noise from surronding wires.

However yes the fan wires in most all 95-97 cars are shot too. Luckly for me my 98 SVT has different wiring for the fans as they are not cracking.




No. Ford would not have paid for it it it would have shown up sooner.

The owner notification program (recall) for the wiring only covered 95, 96, and part of 97. Your 98 was not involved. The factory had already started using wires with better insulation before yours was built.
