Mondeo headlights for pre 98 contour!!!

thought you pre 98 guys might wanna know. i happen to find mondeo headlights that might fit the pre 98's. ive always seen the post 98's with mondeo lights but not pre 98's. well i went on Ebay.co.uk and searched for mondeo. then i came across a set named mondeo mk1 morette. check it out. i swear they look like they would fit.

Who told you post 98 Contours take Mondeo lights? Where have you seen pictures?

If that is the picture you are talking about, you are lost. Those are not Mondeo lights. Those are Morette lights, which were originally released for the Mondeo, and are now in development for the Contour. The ones on his car are the test fit lights and do not fit correctly yet.

i will probably get my balls busted for posting this.... but i came across this and thougth someone could tell me if they would fit or not. i thought they might.

look above. i said i looked for mondeo, then came across mondeo mk1 morette lights.

yup, and you were told they don't fit the gen1 contours, just like the mk2 mondeo morettes don't fit the gen2 contours . . . US crash safety requirements resulted in the contour having a different front structure from the mondeo, meaning all the stuff under the skin of the front bumper is different between the mondeo and the contour.

i just thought they might fit. i know the gen2 contours need modification, and i thought these would need it to for the gen1 contours. i just havent seen anyone try on a gen1. i thought someone might wanna know that i found some to see if they would fit. sorry i posted it.
