i guess to answer your question, in a way (even though the thread topic is about ratings, yet you ask about the future of the CEG)....
read the 12 page thread posted by lance. CEG is still alive, and will be for a while.

95MID, no I don't know you. I don't see how that plays a part in this discussion though. My point of the post (yet again) has nothing to do with my desire for a high score. My point of this post was the hope of getting the question answered as to why offering free parts was considered a negative thing.

you didnt even imply thats the 'question' that you wanted answering. the only question i saw (you know the kind with the little '?' on the end of it) was about the future of the CEG. be a little more clear next time, and sorry for the flame.

Very true, I probably could have been more clear as to the other question I was hoping to get answered. I did mention that though as a reason for my confusion.
Anyways, this is getting silly. It's good to see that the boards will still be up. They have always proven useful/helpful when I have a problem or question. And maybe someday I'll find out why giving away free parts is bad, but as the people who have "private messaged" me saying how "stupid", "lame", etc... won't respond, I guess I'll never know. 95MID, no harm, no foul.

The reason you originally got laughed at/flamed/whatever was the way you phrased your post about the free exhaust. I don't remember exactly what you said, but it was something to the effect of "There is a free SVT exhaust sitting behind Mike's Pizza* if anyone wants to go take it." Like I said, I don't remember exactly what you said (and I don't feel like looking for the topic) but you made it sound like you saw it and anyone could go steal it, not that YOU were giving it away. So that is probably why you got flamed. It wasn't until you clarified things in your second post that I knew you meant it was yours. Hope that helps.

The rating system that is used is really nothing more than a button to push when someone pisses you off. I have tried to get my star count to zero, but no one wants to help me out...lol. People are unpredictable and I'd advise not to spend any time trying to figure out why. You can actually turn off your rating all together, if you want. Happy Motoring!

Honkeytonk Monkey tried to get a 1-star rating a while ago. But people kept giving him 5's (because of his hilarious stories)! So he's stuck at a 3 now too.
