Did any other Contours or Cougars run that night? Just looking for some comparison times.

Your drivetrain is basically stock except for the turbo right (no quaife)?

I have a stock transmission. The WRX I raced a few times ran like 15.3's IIRC.


If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Dammit - I am cursed!! mad

I have the video of the runs. It's right here at my desk on camera. But guess what...for some unknown reason our video editing station magically turned into a PII 466!!!! Not only is the video screwy as hell when captured, THERE'S NO DAMN AUDIO!!!!! It's on the tape, mind you; and the jack works on my cam 'cause I just had my headphones plugged into it, but the damn editor itself isn't setup properly or something.

So, I have to find a way to get this ******* configured correctly and then get a smooth clip on the hard drive :ugh:

Who in the hell puts a Dazzle unit on a 466???? Sheesh....

While I agree that the R/T sucked, ( I can say so because I was there and I drove it... Actually that run is mine IIRC) the R/T has absolutely nothing to do with the ET or Trap speed. I wouldn't have won any races. I was sleeping. The higher trap speed is caused by my spinning through 1st and half of 2nd. I chirped third as well.

I was unsure if I would get the turbo, until last night. It turns the SVT (or prob any Duratech) into a true beast. I have a decent amount of experience at the drag strip and I can tell you that it has low 14's and probably high 13's in it, as it sits. I was dumbfounded. The powerband was as smooth as silk. It pulls at 3800 but you don't notice it as much because it pulls hard as hell from 2800. I look forward to less crappy conditions and a bit more tuning. If I get a chance (Please Kaiser??) to run it again, I will bet that the run is far more impressive.

Okay everyone. I don't know how anxiously your awaiting this video(s), but I'm having serious issues w/ the editor at work. Let's just say I'm fed up w/ it and am looking for an alternative.

I friend of Po-Jay's thinks his PC has S-Video in on the vid card. If that's the case, I can probably get over there by tomorrow and get this done.

Actually, those times suck, considering there are a few mostly stock SVTs that have broken into the 14.7 range. BillP comes to mind almost immediately. But I'm sure it's just an issue of how to drive the car at the strip to get the best time.

When the car's done, you should get some magazine coverage, and let one of their track drivers run it to get the good numbers.. smile

kinda sucks having dumped all that money and not get better runs.. im sure youll get better times soon enough... wait for a nice cool night... youll see how much better turbo cars run in the cool. on a side note my svt was trapping at 99mph laugh
