Does anyone know if you can keep the stock shifter knob and boot with the B&M kit?

i have the B&M short shifter. got mine for 160 delivered. i was disappointed to find that the shifter is not a true short throw but only a shorter stick; however it is indeed a slick shifter and dramatically improves the feel of the shifts. the stock knob does fit on the B&M and the boot is secured with a zip tie just like the stock shifter. i would recommend the B&M for an upgrade but next time im gettin a steeda which is lengthened past the pivot point makin it a true short throw. i wish u luck in gettin this GB goin and i hope it succeeds.

the steeda is awesome...but it does require a riser plate for clearance underneath....but it is totally worth the extra effort it takes to install it...i haven't tried the b+m,so i can't really say which is better...but i do love the steeda....but as for the b+m,i'd get the obx over it,since it is basically identical for half the price...but good luck getting a good deal for this group buy...

I've driven a contour with a B&M and it def. gives it shorter throws....

the only thing short on the B&M is the handle. it may feel shorter, but the throw itself is no shorter. the throw can only be shortened if the part of the shifter between the pivot point and the end where it connects to the shifter cable is extended. on the B&M it is not extended. NEXT....
