Your best bet is to read through this forum or search the old forums for that answer. From what i've read it really helps to keep the heat from the intake. Decide quickly though because the cutoff day is tomorrow

From what I've researched on the old forums, if you use an open air filter, you most likely need a heat shield/custom airbox to prevent heat soak that may reduce your performance to sub-stock in many situations.

Ill toss in the edging that came with the first 2 groupbuys but you are almost better off getting some door sealer (poofy foam sold at auto stores) and using that as it will create a better seal between the box and the hood.

I want that trim for the finished look and less for functionality. If you're going to create a seal all around except by the snorkel, why even run an open element air filter?

I posted that it would take several weeks from the order submission for the sheilds to be run... The order was placed the past Wednesday (several days after deadline to allow any stragglers in), so its been a total of 4 days...

i jsut wanted to seepics of the shield installed with the foam that you supply on it is all, and was jsut looking for an update... not a big deal

I dont have pics of any foam. The edging that is supplied is just edging to give it a more 'finished' look. To get a sure seal with the hood you need to pick up some weather stripping or similar material.
