I had my passenger inner CV boot rip, so I tore into this weekend. As I pulled the halfshaft and intermediate shaft off, I noticed the bearing was loose from the rubber inside of it's mount. Of course I pulled on it to test it integrity, and I ripped it clean off!!!
So I first glued the bearing back in place. Very temporary so I could park the thing back in my garage. Took it to get gas and it held together, but I understand it is very temporary.
So I looked on ebay and found two Ford part numbers: F5RZ-3A329-B ($60) and F5RZ-3A329-F ($150). The B part is compatible with 2.0L Contours, and the F part is compatible with both 2.0L and 2.5L. What could be the difference in the two? I always thought the earlier rev part numbers are of better quality.
