Loose shifter

What have you guys been doing since Ford no longer sells the shifter bushings for the contour on the shift cables? I am missing one of the bushings and my shifter is VERY loose.

I think I have a set of cables from my parts car still. newer style. have a homeade poly filled rear restrictor too. I'm in west Mi.

Note: If you search the site; people fix for under 2.00 with short piece of rubber hose slipped over the post on the shift tower and a clip to hold the shift cable end on. Fills the gap from where the original bushing insert was.
