Question about 3L tune.

So I bought my brothers 3L built hybrid from his wrecked 98 svt. My mechanic is in the process of swapping it into my 2000 svt contour. His 3L tune is on his pcm. I know I cant swap pcm's because of the pats system. My brother still has his xcal with a tune for his 98 svt, my question is, can I use the same tune for my 2000? Im not sure if it will work because of the different pcm's.

I am no expert but I think you just need to unlock the xcal from your brothers car so you can then use it on your car and download the tune.
