what's in your engine?

BMW 5w/30 full synthetic (made by Castrol I think) with Motorcraft 820S filter. Will probably go to either Mobil 1 or Motorcraft when my case of BMW stuff runs out.

Ford/Motorcraft Formula E 5W-30, which is the stock oil for all european Fords.
It's made by Mobil 1, semi-synthetic.
My Focus still rus on it, 172 000 miles without engine problems.
Now, it's obsolete, they have Formula F, right now, which is the consequence of motorsport cooperation with BP/Castrol (WRC Rally Series)
And the new "Formula" is fully synthetic and made by Castrol.

But for ST200 I've choosen Quaker State Q-horse Power 5W-30, fully synthetic.
Better quality than the stock oil (ACEA A5, API SM/CF, ILSAC GF-4 vs. ACEA A1, API SL, ILSAC GF-3) what is important at high rpms...

I've downgraded myself after all these years...

Started with Castrol GTX dino, then became a Mobil 1 fan, then progressed to Supertech Syn, and now I am doing quality dinos once again.

Nearing 100k miles, and doing a 10 mile commute round trip/day, I don't really care anymore!

That said, if my Walmart sold Motorcraft 5w30 blend, I would stick with that one. However, I have yet to see a Walmart carry it.

with a car that nice, why? personal preference?

- Ford manual recommends conventional motor oil.
- Only goes 4K between oil changes so probably little to no benefit to use synethetic
- The engine isn't seeing excessive abuse (or any for that matter). Again probably little to no benefit to use synthetic.

Same here! I asked the counter guy and he said he could order some if I really wanted it but I have a whole stash of stuff to use before I worry about it.

Walmarts here carry it.

Even though I don't have a SVT...

In my boosted I5 I use Mobil1 0W40 with either a Mann or Mahle filter, depending on what Autohaus has in stock at the time. They're basically the same. Every 10K miles.

In the Impreza's H4 I use Valvoline 10W30 with a Subaru filter every 5K miles. It's due for another change once it hits 225K miles in about a week

I have run mobil 1 in my cars for over 30 years and can't think of a reason to ever change to something different. I change it about once a year whether it needs it or not.
Never had any failures or sludge, full synthetic is the way to go and mobil 1 has been around awhile, like me i guess. 5w-30 btw.
