so have you kids ever had front bumper sag? it looks and feels like i do. when i lift the bumper cover up everything lines up wonderfully. i have a gap under my head lamps. i also think I'm missing the support brackets. i forgot to look today when i was under there. but i have not seen them when poking around. lol

Our bumpers all sag a little and have some play in them, some just sag MORE without all the clips in. My brother got in an accident and the body shop didn't put it two of the clips and his sags more than mine.

Mine is flush at the outside of the headlights and has maybe 1/4 to 1/2" gap underneathe the corner of the headlight / grille.

1) Make sure you have your lower cover->subframe braces. Wont's help much with the sag, but these are required... even though 2000's didn't come with them.
2) Make sure each side of the cover has both (2) bolts holding it to the fender. (Mine only had 1 each when I got it)
3) Make sure you have your center support. If you have it, or if it's missing, you'll probably want to rig up something stronger so it'll properly support the front/center of the cover.

Anyone one else have the problem of the bolts ripping right through the edge of the fender wells on the lower parts of their bumpers?

Mine are ripped out on both sides of the front bumper and one side in the back. I swear my bumper flares out now

Do you still have the spacer/aligner that goes between the cover and the fender? With that in place, I don't see how it could rip through the cover.

same here i can move it up and down.

sorry i haven't posted pics yet. Ive been really busy. and its been raining. i will try tomorrow

Fender liners have 1 screw on each side that attach to the bumper. If they aren't connected or they are ripped, the bumper will move around.

Also the bumper supports help make it more solid, but it was decontented for 98.5+

My right rear part sags a little, can't really tell tho. Still bothers me!

Takes about 10 mins to fix.

2 studs on each side of the bumper hold it onto the car. Loosen the nuts and while you tighten down, push up hard on the bumper. If you just let it hang where it falls into place and tighten down, it will sag.

It's even easier if you have someone there to pull up on the bumper while you tighten the nuts.

Why thank you good man!

Another easy fix for the rear is to take a beach towel and fold over itselt a few times 4-5 and place it between the rear bumper and a floor jack. Now dont go crazy with the jack, just enough to lift the bumper up with the bolts loose. The best jack point for this is on the corners of the bumper. It is a little more rigid there than any place else. Now go ahead and tighten them down. Much easier than trying to hold it up and tighten the bolts at the same time.

thats a good idea but thats why you have a helper.

I rarely have a helper when I am here in IL. PM me if you want to tackle the saggy front, mine is not as tight as I would like it either and I have some ideas to make it better.

my edit: I am moving to elmhurst in the next 2months and possibly working in Glen Ellyn.
