Well after almost two years of driving the 1999 ford contour 2.0 zetec, Its gone now. We sold it after I purchased a 1992 ford f-250 with a 7.5 ltr 460, and a granny low 5-speed. I'm so ashamed I miss it so much. It was a mistake to get rid of it.

I did the opposite. I had a F250 w/ a 5 speed and I sold it to get a Contour. I had some great times with that V8.

460 eh? That gets about 10mpg right?

Too bad you couldn't have both, trucks are handy but the Contour is a great driving car.

Yeah its a great truck and has a ton of power, and yeah actually around 8 or 9 miles to the gallon. I wanted to keep the car to, but it was out of the question do to insurance costs, im only 17 so its high enough as it is.

If it makes you feel better, in March of 2005, I bought a 1994 Taurus SHO with a ton of problems due to age and lack of maintenance. Over the next 18 months, a buddy and I ripped the car apart, replacing the engine, suspension, transmission, and everything in between, right down to all key sensors and Earl's stainless steel brake lines. I put $11,000 into her on top of the purchase price and ended up with a great car.

I sold her in March of this year because it just wasn't prudent for me to be juggling the costs and space issues associated with two vehicles.

That doesn't explain why I then bought a 1993 Town Car in August and sold it earlier this month for similar reasons. Unlike the SHO, the car was not a project -- it started out in great condition, and just needed a good bath inside and out. Sometimes, you just can't keep 'em. Hope my experience helps.

Mine with only 17K orig miles gets 7 mpg city, highway, not towing a car, towing a car, driving 55 or 75 mph. Just doesn't matter. LOL

LOL, and I thought my 79 GMC 468 1Ton 4x4 was bad it at least gets 12mpg no matter what. All though i don't recommend it...... it will burn rubber with all 4 wheels, and beat a ricer with half a load of gravel in it.... according to my Jarhead son..... 230k on the last rebuild, about time for another one.

I feel your pain, just sold my T-Red SVT. Now I realize their aren't any better cars out there for the money. I'm looking for another one but if I get a stock I'm going to have to put all the money I put into my old car, back into the new one; such a waste.

On the trucks Flowmaster is the only way to go..... When I bought my Ram in 02 I took it from the dealer to the muffler shop...... lol since almost no one saw it before that everyone thought that sound was stock..... then a friend at work got the exact same truck color and all.... he was sorly disappointed about the sound. One day as we were talking he mentioned it so I told him what I had done, and a couple weeks later I heard him pull into the parking structure and it could have been me.... lol
now we talk about how many car alarms we set off coming and going...

Maybe on the dodge but on the 460 it doesnt sound very well at all. The only time I hear it is if im really pushin the truck or running in a lower gear, I quess I jus' prefer the sound of a nice set of glasspacks.

it is to bad you had to get rid of the tour, but if you can't afford the insurance don't beat yourself up over it, you have to live and you did the right thing. one day you will be in the position to own a daily and toy trust me don't kill yourself now, you could have my insurance bills....
2006 Ford explorer V8 Limited wifes, 2006 Ford Taurus SEL my daily, 1991 Mustang GT V8, 5spd project car, 2000 Ford Contour my original toy and a 2001 Suzuki Bandit  . I just find a way to keep them, my yard and garages are full though  .

Well that depends on which one you go with. Some sound better than others. Check out their web site it has sound for all the different grades. I used to use glasspacks too but got tired of changing them out. My 468 (454 bored .0060) seems to eat them.
