Im gonna try at starting my first build thread. I own a 1996 Mystique LS. 2.5. with around 125k on it. After owning it for 2 years I decided its time for a change. So here is my long Mystique build.

Done
-headunit
-speakers all the way around, tweeters in the doors,
-9 band eq,
-Mtx thunder elite 3000watt amp.
-200 amp alternator
-dynamat everything (about half done)
-racing seats
-4 point harness
-back seats removed, trunk liner removed,
-dual exhaust
-resonator delete
-o2 sim'd
-intake, plugs,wires,
-metal water pump
-brakes all the way around
-4 gauge alternator and ground wires
im sure there's more that is done

in the process
-Kyb front struts
-ball joints
-stabilizer bars
-tie rods
-Svt contour front end conversion. (waiting on fenders, fogs, and headlight mounting bracket)
-Svt gauges
-tires (still debating on which tires. ill post size asap)

Future
-svt side panels and rear bumper
-delete tow package
-svt front brake upgrade
-svt uim/lim
-tear down and off to paint

I will try to post some picture asap. A couple more things in progress.

couple of things I see after reading what you plan to do ....

- just replace the control arm, it comes with new ball joints. At 125k the bushing in the arms should be replaced.
- make sure you do rear struts also. The back of the car will bounce around once the front is done if they are original.
- SVT guages will not work in a 96. I don't believe anyone has gotten them to work. If they have they had to use a 98 EO cluster.

yeh i think im gonna do both the control arms actually. rear struts were done about a year ago. Its in the middle of snowing right now so everything is going slow. ordered my strut bump stops/ boots/ misc. bolts. Im gonna have to look into the cluster before i try anything. Thanks

also I believe that to do the SVT front end swap on a pre-98 the core support also needs to be changed. If you had a post-98 it would be more of a direct swap.

yeh i cant find to many people that have done it. ill take a look and see. cars covered under a tarp in the snow right now. as soon as things melt and i get the suspension done its off to the body. but for right now i gotta get things running good and to the alignment shop.

I'm interested in the fogs not to sure about the rims yet. Gotta take a look into my funds ha. I'll keep you posted.

for anyone that is interested. i have gotten the new struts put together. kyb gr-2s with moog strut bump stops and covers. the drivers side strut would not decompress and a passengers was extremely slow. i started cleaning and polishing the headlights. things have been a little slow as i work 9-5 till sunday. gonna try to get the stabilizer bars, tie rod endlinks done and possibly remove the ball joints then. is there any difference from the stock 2.5l mass air flow sensor to a 99 or 00 svt maf?

havent had to much time to work on it lately. as it was raining all day today and saturday i was preoccupied. looking forward to seeing some people april 6th at psu harrisburg.
