Time to sell my old faithful MY 2000 SVT Contour. Owned 17 years, bought at 80k now has 213k. Very rare car these days.

Good cosmetics, Excellent mechanical condition, still daily driven as of earlier this year. Owned since 80k mi, properly maintained by mechanical engineer enthusiast owner. Essentially bone stock. Excellent body*, no body damage ever, many new parts. Current VA safety inspection.

The Good:

Very little corrosion, early non powder metal diff and shift tower “key” by Terry Haines, all new hoses, clutch, water pump at 150k mi. Runs strong, everything works. Newish alternator, BAT struts, a arms, spark plugs, filters. New fuel pump. Cold AC. Southern car. Very low oil consumption. Almost new UHP A/S tires on stock wheels. Excellent dynamics, balance and exhaust note.

Only major failure in 213k mi was the differential, powder metal gears wore out. Sent trans to Terry Haines (RIP) who installed an early diff with real metal gears, did the "key" mod that prevents shifter failure, installed new seals and generally massaged. Shifts like butter!

The Less good:

*One rusty rocker panel. Very little other corrosion, maybe sunroof drain related? I have a source for or can provide a good quality repair panel. Clearcoat failing. Front seats have smallish splits. Needs new LH parking brake cable, have part. Needs Ford TSB for voltage variation, the new alternator seems more susceptible to this than previous alternators.

Easy cosmetic fixup for enthusiast, or good first car for budding enthusiast with car person parent. Located in Richmond, VA.

$3400
