2010 3.5L Duratec swap

With adaptor plates you will most likely need a custom flywheel so that the input shaft goes all the way into the clutch.

If he were to go through all that trouble why not have them make a spacer while they are making the plates to mount on the crank register to make up the difference? Shouldn't cost too much extra.

Yeah. I don't know if it would work but I have heard of it being done before. If it was the same tk as the adapter wouldn't it push the flywheel/clutch/pp assembly into the correct position? Just trying to think of options to make it more possible.

It would never hold torque for a long period of time. Even with loctite, you'd be chasing it all the time like wheel spacers. It's a lot easier to retorque a lug nut than it is a flywheel bolt. Custom flywheels are the way to go.

Went to look at the engine today and took some measurements. Its roughly 29" wide x 23" high " 21.5" long. That last dimension is the one bothering me as there's only 20" between current transmission location and passenger side frame rail. Pretty sure you would need to move the transmission a bit further to the left which means custom length axles. Getting a bit crazy already...

They do it all the time with hondas

Yeah good point, most of the fast hondas I know end up heading home on flatbeds. It really seems like the 3.5 just is not worth it, you could save your energy and money and do a 3LT for probably around the same price. But to each his own.
