3.4L Yamaha V8. Is it Possible in Svt.

Well, I'm interested in the V8. When I measured both there was a spacing issue. I'm up for another MTX try in a V8 SHO.

5v/cyl heads? Not on any 3.4 SVT Ford Yamaha engine I have ever seen. Where did you come up with this stuff?

SVT ford yamaha engine? I'm surprised you've seen one of those at all....

I'm pretty sure I remember reading the v6 had 5v/cyl, not sure on the v8, just assumed it would be similar.

I've never seen an SVT Ford Yamaha 3.4 either, only the SHO one

The V8 is a 32 Valve V8 in the 3rd Gen SHO taurus. The yamaha 3.2 is a 24 valve V6. In both cases that means 4 valves per cylinder. Why would you assume a V6 and a V8 would be the same anyways? 3.4 is a 60 degree V8, very different from the older 3.2s and 3.0, Both are prettier than the V8 too. :troutslap:

I've always wondered what the smiley means with the fish hitting the guy and all.

I wonder were I picked up the idea the 3.2 sho was 5v/cyl then, how strange.

Good catch. I did not mean SVT. Yamaha was involved with Taurus SHO engines. Anybody remember what other cars Yamaha was involved with engine development? I know of one. A four cylinder and Yamaha produced the head. Ford was hoping to do the same, but Yamaha said, after studying the block Ford wanted to use (the 3.0 Vulcan), not unless we do the entire engine.

The Sho engine was so advanced for its time. I really don't think that there will ever be such a highly advanced engine ever again. To think, the SHO engine was 1988 technology (first production year was 89) When my grandfather saw my first SHO in 1996 (a 1989 SHO) he just shook his head asked where the "carb" was and walked away. Taking it to your local repair shop was unheard of.

Too bad the SHO engine block was cast iron. Could you imagine the power to weight ratio if it were aluminum.
