Hey all im new here and I have a few problems with my wifes 98. It has the V6 with auto trans. I did some serching with no results.
First problem is while driving if you press the brake and release there is a "click" noise that seams to be coming from the shifter. Its weird because its just one "click" every time the brake petal is released. I have taken apart the console to see if I could find the source but found nothing. However when it was apart the noise did get louder without the trim in place.
Second is the power mirrors and dome light do not work. I have checked all the fuses witch are fine but the fuse block did not have power at fuse 34 (mirror fuse). I tried to back trace the source of this only to get frustrated and quit for now. Any clues as what may be happening?
Anyways my wife loves that car. Were over in germany, the car has a semi interesting story. It was first purchased by the US goverment and used as a embassy car up in frankfurt. Its US spec but per the contract ford had to put in a KM/H gauge cluster and do some other stuff to make it better for european driving. After its usefulness as a embassy car it has been bought and sold by GI's stationed here in germany.
I need to rewire the radio because someone cut the factory harness off and now it has no constant power to keep radio stations programed and such. Also the wheels need balanced, there is a horrible shutter when I take it over 120 KM/H on the autobahn but overall a good little car for my wife to drive to work and such. Thanks for the help
