Has anyone ever stepped away from the T3/T4 hybrids that the old ADC and the NPG kits use and tried a Garrett GT30 or GT35 series ball bearing turbo? Just wondering. I know on the bigger turbos lag would be a factor. But if put on a built 3L? Just looking for input while building my kit.

A GT30R is to small for the built motor and a GT35R would be equal to a T3/T4 60 trim remember the 60 trim will do 525hp it is not a small turbo. Ball bearing turbo just give you 400rpm quicker spool than a traditional journal bearing plus the newer journals are improved alot most are switching back to journal bearings. We also sell BB center cartidges but pull your check book out and spend another $450 to do so. Joey

Thanks for the info/ clarification. Im sure you'll be hearing from me soon. I got a large order to put in with you guys, once i get all the money.

Just make sure the turbo has ceramic coated journals and you'll be all set. If it's not a race car it doesn't matter imo.

If you have the money to burn go for it though.

The old ADC kit didn't us a T3/4, it was a T25 and a T28 I believe, both available in journal or ball bearing cartridges.

Most T3/4 turbos are available with ball bearing cartridges as well.

Stazi used a large ball bearing turbo on his old ADC kit, Ryan has it now and it produced monster power with just a turbo change.

I think ADC offered two kits near the end of their run. T3/4 and T28. Beyondloaded would be able to tell for sure. Both Ryan and I have 'older' kits with the T25 flanged up-pipe. I think the GT3076Rs are the largest we can get to fit our uppipes without changing the flange.

Changing the uppipe flange would require a downpipe flange change too as I don't believe you get get t3/4 turbo with a 5-bolt turbine outlet.

Didn't Joey have ADC hotpipes with a T3/4? Unless he changed the flange himself.
