Hard-core CEG'er
With this being fathersday weekend, I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I'll have to see what's going on.
I'm not sure just how "fun" the route I suggested is... but should be a nice route. When ever I have to do some long term datalogs... or testing out changes to the car, I like running up Scottsdale Rd from the 101 to Carefree Hwy (nice dippy road, but pretty straight). I've never actually done the entire route I suggested... but from looking at google-maps, it should be interesting. Any drive longer than that, and I'll need to wait until I change out my fuel pump. Also, there are occasional Scottsdale cops... but their radars are pretty noisy and usually are detected at least a mile away.
The Canyon run is very curvy and challenging. There are discussions on focaljet about doing one sometime soon, but not really soon. I would recommend a daytime run of that before you attempt it at night. That's the shortest but most difficult drive I've gone on with the FJ guys... a focus even went "off-roading", but luckily not where the sheer cliffs (w/o guard rails) were.
